Every day we are inspired by the women within our team and surrounding us, caring for the oceans and all life in them. In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, we revealed the #NoFinFL mural, created for two women we are proud to learn from and work alongside, @kellyofthewild and the late Representative Kristin Jacobs.⁠

As many of you know, The Kristin Jacobs Ocean Conservation Act passed in both the Florida House and Senate unanimously, in 2020 taking the Sunshine State out of the global shark fin trade. To celebrate Kristin, and the one-year anniversary, Kelly revealed the first phase of her 2,000 square foot mural. The mural lives on iPrep Academy's entrance, in the heart of Miami, providing a portal to the ocean for pre-K through 12th-grade students. ⁠Included in the mural is one of Kristin’s favorite quotes:

We are extremely excited to carry out Kristin's legacy by teaching the younger generations the importance of protecting our oceans. A truly collaborative effort, Kelly (@canvasofthewild), @Shark4Kids, Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, and Shark Allies are developing a curriculum for all grade levels to do just that! Thank you to each donor that helped us make this project possible, as well as opened doors to even bigger opportunities to celebrate Kristin and her life’s work.
