Morada Way Art Walk, Florida Keys 7/15

We will be there to provide information to the community about important shark conservation efforts in the making, and to give them a chance to become part of the conversation.

Florida is currently a hub for the shark fin trade in the US, a fact that leaves most Floridians shocked. There seems very little benefit to the public or the economy, while the global shark fin trade is devastating shark populations. Nearly everyone in the Florida Keys is connected to the ocean through their livelihoods and their recreation. They have a keen interest in how resources are used.

As policy makers decide on how to move forward, it is important they hear from all sides and that they realize there is more at stake than direct commercial benefits from fin sales.
