citizen’s enforcement with one protest

After successfully stopping the 2016-2018 bear hunt in Florida, One Protest, a Florida based animal advocacy group, expanded their reach with the Save Florida Sharks campaign. A combined effort of organizations and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), a new found solution was adopted that addressed the negative impacts of shore-based shark fishing. The FWC unanimously voted to put in new regulations to protect beachgoers and sharks, effective July of last year. That is where Shark Watch comes in! Shark Watch is a citizens enforcement program to uphold the new regulations on shore-based shark fishing. Shark Watch provides citizens with the opportunity to actively participate in the conservation of Florida sharks. Together we can protect sharks and expose illegal shark fishing!
