Representing Sharks

Sharks cannot fight for their rights. Pleading their case and telling their story is one of the most important components of shark advocacy. Whether that is in legislative campaigns or the public eye. Sharks need consistent strategic and level-headed representation that brings into focus the most important issues and solutions.

If we are not part of the decision-making process, then we will always be left standing in frustration.

In the conservation world, trends frequently dominate the space, and sharks end up being pushed to the back burner. In recent years, climate change has taken over the attention of many organizations that used to exclusively work on animal advocacy campaigns. If we want to make progress, we cannot keep losing our focus. Sharks need a few organizations that focus on nothing but their cause. Shark Allies has never changed agendas, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep sharks on the agenda.

Be a representative for sharks

Show up when the rules are drafted. Represent the interests of sharks in legislative campaigns. This is where Shark Allies has excelled. But more needs to be done.

Coalitions & Ally campaigns

There are many approaches to shark conservation. We collaborate and get creative.

Sharks in the Media

The media and film industry have, and will continue to, shape the public’s perception of sharks. How can we engage them more effectively and change the messaging?

Extinction soup Documentary

Sometimes the best way to change the message is to create it yourself. With Extinction Soup we ventured into film-making not because we could, but because we felt we had to.
