World Aquatic Animal Day: Live Drone Event 4/3/21

Join Los Angeles local organizations, Shark Allies and Surfrider LA for a collaborative morning protecting the wildlife in our backyard with @TheMalibuArtist’s Carlos G.! We will broadcast live from Shark Allies and Surfrider LA’s Instagram channels to introduce the event, our respective campaigns and where you can find our newly installed Surfrider Ashcans. Then we will turn it over to Carlos’ live drone feed on The Malibu Artist’s YouTube channel of the famous Grey Whale migration along Santa Monica Bay! You will be amazed by his self-taught knowledge based on countless hours of observation and their predictive patterns.

WHY

After visiting Carlos on location to watch the Grey Whale migration pass by Point Dume, and later Great Whites in a separate location, he expressed his concern over the countless cigarette butts littered on our coastlines. Even more worrisome is the fact that these incredible aquatic animals are just feet from the shoreline. That is why we are collaborating with Surfrider Foundation’s Hold Onto Your Butt program and youRhere to install 3 “Ashcans” along Point Dume/Westward Beach. During the live event, we will be fundraising to sponsor the Ashcans, and support Shark Allies’ campaigns. Carlos has graciously pitched in the first $500 toward our goal.
